 MECC control room

The Metropolitan Emergency Communications Center (MECC) represents a new approach to fire, rescue, and EMS communications in the Central Ohio area – an approach that has not previously been implemented on this scale. The Metropolitan Emergency Communications Consortium, currently comprised of Jefferson, Mifflin, Plain, Truro, and Violet Townships and the City of Whitehall, was born out of necessity and the desire to expand already existing agreements between our departments. By opening a consolidated fire alarm office, the goal was to efficiently and professionally process and dispatch calls for emergency service to the jurisdictions served by MECC.  MECC employees strive for service excellence and share a commitment to the safety of those we protect.
