Pat has been in the fire service for 24 years. He started as a volunteer Firefighter/Emergency
Medical Technician with the Hebron Fire Department. He then joined the Jefferson
Township Fire Department as a volunteer and moved to a paid full-time dispatcher/part-time
Firefighter/EMT. In late 1989, Mifflin Township hired him as a part-time Firefighter/EMT.
Then in August 1991, he became a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic with the department.
He rode in charge of a Medic and Engine Company for approximately 5 years and
then was transferred to the position of ladder operator for 2 years.
Pat has been a trained Fire Investigator for about 7 years and began full-time
in the Fire Prevention Bureau about 4 years ago.
He is the only certified fire and explosion investigator in the Prevention
Bureau at this time. The Prevention Bureau is responsible for building inspection,
fire, and explosion investigations; hazardous materials incident investigations;
education including juvenile firesetters education programs; and any fireworks
exhibitions.
