Mifflin Township Division of Fire - Overview

 

The Mifflin Township Division of Fire provides fire and emergency medical services to the City of Gahanna and the unincorporated areas of Mifflin Township.

All full-time fire fighters are trained as emergency medical technicians (paramedics) in advanced life support. This is an important asset to the department, because approximately 2/3 of all emergency runs are medical-related. Rapid emergency crisis intervention at the time of a fire or medical emergency depends on the training of the personnel and reliable state-of-the-art equipment and apparatus.

The Fire Department operates from a yearly budget of approximately $7.6 million and respond to approximately 6,500 emergencies—both fire and medical—annually.

Under the direction of Chief Jim DeConnick, the Department strives to provide Mifflin Township and Gahanna citizens with the highest quality of fire prevention and suppression, emergency medical services, and public education with available resources. The dedication of its personnel toward community services has made the Mifflin Township-Division of Fire a leading contributor in providing the ultimate of safety and protection for the citizens of Mifflin Township and Gahanna.
