Michael J. Pocock, Chief of Police

Michael J. Pocock, appointed Chief of the Mifflin Township Police Department
on May 2, 2005, comes from a diverse law enforcement and corporate investigative
background spanning the past 20 years. The Chief is a 1978 graduate of The
Ohio State University and has assisted numerous federal, state, and local
agencies in intelligence gathering and special operations.
Chief Pocock was formerly employed with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation & Identification
in the capacity of Special Agent, responsible for the investigation of felony
narcotics trafficking and serving in a variety of undercover roles.
The Chief has served as an Ohio Commissioned Peace Officer with the London
Police Department and as a sergeant and consultant to the chief of Commercial
Point.
Before being appointed Mifflin Township Police Chief, he formed the Ohio Private
Detective Agency, which has continued to provide security consulting and police
training for numerous agencies and departments throughout the country for the
past 8 years. He is certified by the State of Ohio as an instructor in firearms,
explosives, terrorism, narcotics, and defensive tactics.
As an avid supporter of community policing, the Chief encourages any citizen
to meet with him to discuss their law enforcement needs or suggestions for
the Mifflin Township community.
